Vincenzo Albanese comes as the second team leader. He has been incredibly consistent since joining EOLO last year, despite having gotten no wins to his name. 11th at Milano-Sanremo, Top10 at Giro di Sicilia and second in both hilly stages behind Simon Yates at the recent Vuelta a Asturias show that his climbing level is superior to most sprinters, which should see him as a contender in complicated hilly stages where a sprint is a possibility - aswell as breakaways.
Erik Fetter will start the race in his home town and will be an interesting name for the opening stage.
Diego Rosa will be a wildcard for breakaways for hilly stages, whilst David Bais,
Francesco Gavazzi,
Mirco Maestri and
Samuele Rivi should frequently be in breakaways to give the team some sponsor exposure throughout the whole race.
Team DS Stefano Zanatta has said: "We’ll put all our strength, our enthusiasm to try to give our best to try at least to repeat the great performance of last year and fight for a stage success that would be the crowning achievement of a work and a path that we are pursuing to make this team grow."
