- Yeah, let’s make it even easier for lazy people and just call it Tara. Most regions have a tour named after the region, many races are by departure and end location, I really don’t see why this one which fits perfectly into the “system” should be shortened, ARA sounds as uncommercial (in most languages) as Alula, nobody complains about the Basque race being called Itzulia Basque Country (and it’s already kind of sad they adopted the English as official) translated into Tour du Pays Basque, Vuelta Ciclista al País Vasco or Euskal Herriko Itzulia. PS don’t know your opinion on it but Gulf of Mexico sounds better than what is being dictated onto whoever succumbs to pressure to conform to whimsies.
- If you look at how Del Toro answered questions in the following interviews, you can tell that he knows his mistakes, but doesn't want to acknowledge them. @WoutVanAert could give him a lesson or two in that [concerning Dwaars door Vlaanderen]. Del Toro never answered the questions properly - he focused on why he didn't ride in the valley. What we want to know is why he didn't work on the climb. He did actually say he was on the limit, but no-one believes that.
- Assume the regions are punting sponsor money in, shame that they can leave the actual name in place, bit like when Het Volk became Het Nieuwsblad!
- It's been said before by DS'S, JV needs to prepare more, which was pointed out in the winter, not racing isnt a good sign, ok training is training but not racing for soo long...isnt good. I wonder if JV feels the pressure more than TP... like WvA doesn't perform as well with MvdP around.. when Jonas V has beat him, it's been mentally, predominantly
- I think it makes sense, ie reading about the race name may make you look into it but that's too hard for this era.. tho shortening it to Tour des ARA makes sense 👍
- This sort of communication can be taken offline. He has Tadej's contact. Tadej rode with his son. I don't see any instance where Tadej showed lack of humility. If he meant Tadej not going all out, then it's his perception. You know what I think is lack of humility? Delivering more crushing blow than necessary after your opponent is at his limit, like the way the German football team did to Brazil. It's good for spectators though. But, that's just my perception.
- Pogi hasn't crashed yet?😅
- When I saw the jersey and the headline, I thought it's Chris Froome until I saw the age.
- It just goes to show that the people in charge dont know how to name a race. Who will remember "Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes". Shorten it to Tour ARA
- IDT cared more about defending 2nd than defending 1st. The thought of coming in 3rd behind RC was a bigger loss to his ego than losing 1st to master Yates. IDT is a total dong.
