Jumbo-Visma are reported to be on the market from very early on in the season. After rumours of interest in hiring Dylan van Baarle and Jan Tratnik, there is another name under the Dutch team's eye which has been under the spotlight over the last few weeks: Thymen Arensman.
The Team DSM rider is starting the Giro d'Italia this coming Friday with the ambition of helping Romain Bardet to a strong overall classification, however the 22-year old has been one of the most promising stage-racing talents in the peloton for many years and this year has been showing his quality. After finishing Tirreno-Adriatico in sixth place and the Tour of the Alps in third, he will be riding the Giro d'Italia to end his Italian racing campaign.
Jumbo-Visma DS Merijn Zeeman has confirmed the interest himself, "We are certainly interested in Arensman. If you look at how he is developing, he is an interesting rider for many teams. His management has indicated that Thymen wants to focus on the Giro d'Italia first and then think about his future. Until then, he doesn't want to worry about that too much."
With the target on van Baarle and Arensman, Jumbo-Visma are attempting to expand their country's lineup - which currently already has riders like Tom Dumoulin, Olav Kooij, Steven Kruijswijk as some of the most valuable in the team.
