The Italian all-rounder is set to make his debut for the Astana - Qazaqstan Team but it hasn't been the ideal start, as he sees his early-season calendar changed due to ilness.
As reported by Gazetta dello Sport, Moscon has "had a bronchitis and lost days of training." This information came from within the Astana structure. Moscon has his sights on many races this spring. His schedule seeminly includes the majority of the cobbled classics where he is returning in seek of revenge after a crash at last year's Paris-Roubaix hampered his chances of winning the race whilst leading it. It also includes the Tirreno-Adriatico, Milano-Sanremo and the Ardennes classics, making for a very heavily loaded spring if he manages to be at their start as planned.
Accordingly to the report, "now he's going well", which assures that the ilness is behind him and he will be able to return to competition soon. He was planning to begin it in the Volta ao Algarve next week week but it will likely be delayed to the week after, with a one-day race in either the Faun-Ardèche Classic or the Trofeo Laigueglia.
