The list of 31 cyclists who will represent Germany at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been confimed by the German Olympic Sports Confederation.
As for the road, there are four women and two men who will participate in the various events. Germany's main hope will be the 26-year-old Liane Lippert who excelled in 2022 and 2023, but this season was far from ideal for the Movistar rider. Men's team will hunt a surprise with classics specialist Nils Politt and all-rounder Max Schachmann nominated.
But more than on the road, it is on the track that Germany should shine in a few weeks, and in particular thanks to its women's delegation. With its sprinter trio composed of Lea Sophie Friedrich, Pauline Sophie Grabosch and Emma Hinze, Germany will be one of the big favorites for the gold medal in women's team sprint. Friedrich and Hinze will also have a strong chance of shining in individual sprint and keirin.
In endurance, we find among the selected Mieke Kröger, Roger Kluge and Tim Torn Teutenberg. The 22-year-old rider of Lidl-Trek Future Racing has been one of the stars of this year's U23 road season, but even more impressive are his track palmares. European champion in all categories will be among the main favourites for the Elimination event.
