The Colombian prodigy has, since his serious accident in late January, made remarkable improvement and is perhaps on his way to recover and take back his place in the pro peloton at the end of the year, or 2023 according to his coach.
INEOS Grenadiers have announced on their social media that
Egan Bernal will be doing a group ride on the Zwift platform this coming Saturday. This comes in the space of just a few days since Bernal's return to the road, only a little over two months after his life-threatening accident near his home in Colombia.
Bernal has since been training on the road with friends and teammates since Sunday, and is assumed to be following a low-intensity training program that fits with his rehabilitation. After suffering multiple injuries includes several broken vertebrae, the INEOS rider's recovery so far is nothing short of miraculous, and he will be participating in a social event that is set to gather a lot of attention.
