Dwars door Vlaanderen sees both men's and women's races today and the latter has seen a sprint finish decide the race's result, as Italian
Chiara Consonni took her first win of the season, also the first of Valcar - Travel & Service.
The 120-kilometer long race saw some aggressive racing over the day's hilly terrain, however despite the best efforts of the likes of Annemiek van Vleuten, Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig, Ellen van Dijk and Elisa Longo Borghini a bunch sprint came to be at the end. It was an attacked race from start to finish, but those who could sprint had the best situation towards the end.
Consonni was the fastest out of the reduced peloton and took a strong win, beating
Julie de Wilde and
Elise Chabbey who completed the podium.
