Crashes are never something we want to see in cycling. Sadly today we saw a really nasty one. Wishing my teammate Jay and all my comrades in the peloton a speedy recovery after their tough fall today🙏
After a nasty crash on the descent of the Olaeta climb on stage 4 of Itzulia Basque Country Primoz Roglic, Remco Evenepoel and Jonas Vingegaard were forced to abandon the race, with all of them suffering injuries to varying degrees.
Tadej Pogacar, who is set to compete against all three riders at the Tour de France this summer, took to Twitter to talk about the crash, as he said “crashes are never something we want to see in cycling. Sadly today we saw a really nasty one”.
His UAE Team Emirates teammate Jay Vine was also forced to abandon the race, as Pogacar said “wishing my teammate Jay and all my comrades in the peloton a speedy recovery after their tough fall today”.
