Team Visma | Lease a Bike have revealed their lineup for
Paris-Roubaix. Despite the return of
Christophe Laporte to competition, the Dutch team is missing Wout van Aert, Jan Tratnik and also Matteo Jorgenson who the team wrote is not 100% and will not take to the start.
The American was one of the team's best performers during the spring, but it is not a large surprise as he is a rider who performs better uphill; and would not have the same chances of performing in Roubaix. The leadership task is given to two experienced riders in former winner
Dylan van Baarle, and European Champion Christophe Laporte who returns after a period of illness and a saddle sore. None however are expected to have their best form, and Visma does not enter the race as favourites for a victory.
Instead they will likely try to use their numbers and play with underdog young figures. The Van Dijke twins, Edoardo Affinin and
Per Strand Hagenes are all legitimate outsiders for a chaotic race in such terrain; whilst veteran classics specialist
Julien Vermote fills in the final spot as the road captain on the day.
