Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig gets emotional after victory in third stage - "I don't think I realize yet that I have beaten Marianne Vos on such a finish, it doesn't get any better than this"

FDJ-SUEZ-Futuroscope rider Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig took her first stage victory in the Tour de France Femmes. She beat overall leader Marianne Vos in a thrilling sprint to secure the gold.
The Danish champion could not contain her happiness and got a bit emotional. "I don't think I realize yet that I have beaten Marianne Vos on such a finish," she said in a flash interview.
Marta Cavalli was involved in a crash 25 kilometers before the finish line in the second stage due to which she suffered significant skull injuries and was forced to abandon the tour ."Yesterday was a terrible day. We lost Marta Cavalli, and I lost a lot of time too. But we all kept our fighter's mentality. Today we knew it was very hard and that I could go for the win if I had good legs. But to really do that and have a tour in this champion's jersey, it doesn't get any better than this,” said Ludwig.
She was cornered in the group with Vos leading, but she made a comeback with a thrilling sprint in the last few hundred meters and beat Vos with two seconds lead."I wasn't in the best position in the last corner, but I just kept fighting. What a victory, man! This is for the whole team. They did a great job yesterday, and they kept believing in me. I love you guys,” concluded Ludwig. She currently holds 10th position in GC, 1 minute and 48 seconds behind overall leader Marianne Vos.
