Carlos Rodríguez has attended the premiere of the Vuelta a España podcast in 2023 and has spoken, among other things, about how his recovery is going after his fall at Strade Bianche.
"I am fine, recovering little by little, although it is not anything super serious, it is a broken bone that has to heal well and apart from gradually gaining mobility," he said. "Luckily the operation went well and I am already riding a bike, that I already wanted to ride again, so I'm happy and I hope to compete again soon".
The INEOS Grenadiers rider explained perfectly how the fall was and why he ended up breaking his clavicle: "Right in the seventh sector of Strade Bianche, I didn't start very well, they crashed right in front of me, a bike went half-flying and mine got stuck and I was thrown forward. I didn't expect to fall and I think that was who fell into a bad posture and broke my clavicle".
The Almeria rider spoke, how could it be otherwise in the La Vuelta podcast, about his great performance in his debut in the Spanish race last season: "It was a very good experience. The sensations were very good, much better than expected. Seeing myself there with the best in one of the most important races in cycling. Perhaps I did not finish in the best way due to the fall, but I arrived in Madrid and I enjoyed very much".
The one from Almuñecar, who we remember finally finished seventh in La Vuelta, was not one of the favorites and attributes his great performance to his work:
"That's work and preparation, but you never know what can happen, I was lucky to be there fighting, but even when I do another big one, it doesn't happen again, you never know, so I'm very happy to have been close and to have been fighting with the best".
