Carlos Rodríguez: "It looks like Vingegaard and Pogacar are playing a video game and their legs don't hurt"

Carlos Rodriguez was very happy after the Grand Colombier stage with the victory of his INEOS Grenadiers teammate Michał Kwiatkowski. The Almerian was with the favorites until the last meters, arriving close to Tom Pidcock and Jai Hindley, among others.

In spite of everything, his sensations are good. Speaking to RTVE, he commented on what he thought of the stage and what he thinks of Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar: "The pace was not as hard as other days, but the lunges have worn a lot. It feels like Vingegaard and Pogacar are playing a video game and their legs don't hurt."

Naturally, he was very happy with Kwiatkowski's victory and assured that he deserves the win: "Few deserve this victory more than Kwiato". After two 'uniport' stages such as the Puy de Dome and now the Grand Colombier, in which he has not been able to develop his skills as a long-distance climber and has lost some seconds due to lack of explosiveness.

He hopes that Saturday and Sunday's stages will be much better adapted to his characteristics and he will be able to cut time towards his objectives: "Hopefully, both stages go well for me (through Morzine and Saint Gervais) and we can get a good result or cut time," he concluded, now fourth in the GC, 1:57 minutes behind Jai Hindley and the race podium.
