Arnaud Démare forced out of Dwars door Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix due to 'great fatigue'

Arkéa - B&B Hotels have been racking up points which are putting them back in contention to remain at World Tour level but they are now hit with important news. Their leader for the cobbled classics Arnaud Démare is ending his classics campaign with immediate effect due to ongoing fatigue.

"Following examinations which revealed great fatigue justifying the bad feelings of Arnaud Démare in recent weeks, the latter is forced to give up from Dwars door Vlaanderen, the Grand Prix de l'Escaut as well as Paris-Roubaix," the team shared in social media.

This is a hit for the French team which is seeking each and every point they can gather in this and the upcoming season as the UCI rankings do not currently favour them. Démare has not been able to perform at his best recently but the team still had hopes that his form would improve towards the biggest goals - but that was ultimately not the case.

Hence Démare pulls out from today's Dwars door Vlaanderen, the GP de l'Escaut and Paris-Roubaix where he was scheduled to be in. The likes of Luca Mozzato and Florian Sénéchal who is coming back from injury should lead Arkéa at Paris-Roubaix.
