Annemiek van Vleuten attacked the Giro d'Italia Donne once again this afternoon and has extended her race lead with another strong win.
The day had bad news for Canyon SRAM as yesterday's winner and second in the GC Antonia Niedermaier was forced to abandon due to a crash, and ultimately the stage was decided in the two final ascents. The peloton has managed to neutralize all moves and into the final ascent, the outcome was not too unfamiliar.
Annemiek van Vleuten launched an attack with 13 kilometers to go. The 2.5-kilometer long climb was enough to create the gap, and from there on the race leader only extended it towards the finish, taking her second win of the week. Lorena Wiebes and Liane Lippert took second and third on the day.
