Amund Jansen undergoes surgery to treat Ilical Endofibrosis - "If everything goes well, I can start training again"

This season has been disappointing for Team BikeExchange-Jayco rider Amund Grondahl Jansen. This season, he competed in only ten races, finishing 31st on a stage of the Tour of Hungary as his best result.

His performance was frustrating so he set out to find out why it was happening, and he quickly found the answer. “The realization of some kind of numbness in my right leg and pain in my back was a recurring problem until a diagnosis was made. In the period when I had enough time to walk with the family, play padel, cycle with my brother and get married, I also thought about the important choices in life. However, I was then able to go to a vascular surgeon with a good track record in the Netherlands, who could help me with the problem," he wrote on Instagram.

He travelled to the Netherlands, where he recently underwent surgery. “The operation seems to have gone well. Now I will have to be patient for a couple of months, and then, if everything goes well, I can start training again, hopefully with two working legs,” concluded Jansen. The Australian WorldTour jersey will be Jensen's start to the season if all goes well.
