Amaury Capiot wins stage 4 of Tour of Oman - Belgian outsprints Schelling and De Pretto after shortened stage

Stage 4 of the Tour of Oman was another day of racing ending early in the morning, with race organizers having cut the stage due to difficult weather conditions. The riders raced on, and it was Amaury Capiot who took the win, and Arkéa -B&B Hotels' second triumph of the season.

Matteo Malucelli, Blake Quick and Rasmus Bogh Wallin formed the day's breakaway on the 104-kilometer stage, it was not a move that was too dangerous and they were reeled in before the final hilltops where the day would be decided.

Emanuel Buchmann and Adam Yates were among those attacking the race and trying to make the difference uphill, but the climbs were not hard enough to do so. Eventually it came down to a sprint amongst a group of around 50 riders, and there Amaury Capiot was the fastest towards the finish line, beating Ide Schelling and Davide de Pretto - whilst Finn Fisher-Black jumped back into the race lead.
