Emanuel Buchmann and Adam Yates were among those attacking the race and trying to make the difference uphill, but the climbs were not hard enough to do so. Eventually it came down to a sprint amongst a group of around 50 riders, and there Amaury Capiot was the fastest towards the finish line, beating

Davide de Pretto - whilst Finn Fisher-Black jumped back into the race lead.
