And why did you edit your original post adding that huge paragraph of misinformed ai slop in the end?

Also Tim Heemskerk left abruptly in February. What's going on beneath the placid surface at Visma?

glad he didn't get a win. he is around every crash, is a dangerous ride, and almost killed Fabio. he shouldn't be in the sport.

Who are “they”? Everyone claimed the opposite. It was a lighter Giro designed to persuade Pogacar, Evenepoel or Vingegaard to show up and Pogacar did. It was the shortest route since 1979. Total elevation was very low at 44.000 metres. It was 48.700 in 2026. 52.350 in 2025. 51.400 in 2023. Second in the GC was Daniel Martinez. It can easily be proven that it was a historically easy Giro with little competition to Pogacar. Almost like 2026. Although 2026 was a bit harder.

"with immediate effect" seems a bit odd. I mean, how much difference could he realistically make to Lidl-Trek's plans/results for the rest of the season?

If another shocking news doesn't come from Visma Lease a bike in December I'm going to be disappointed... First in January with Simon and now in June with Grischa...both with "immediate effect".... Maybe in December Jonas is going to step back as well, since he already has the triple crown...

In 2024 they claim it was a much harder route with better riders in the race. Reality is something that can be proven. In 2024, the route was by all measures, harder. Bigger and more climbs. More tricky decending and not the best roads. Now, can we say the riders were worse? Not yet. Until the season ends and we see how well they stack up with the riders in 2024 as dar as placements...it isn't something you can see

Hardly. Doing some good times in training with fresh legs and no pressure isn't doing it in the third week of a tour with fatigue and stress and screaming fans and all the rest of it. I wish him all the best luck this year but he's never done a 3 week race before, I expect a capitulation at some point. Articles like this only set him up for some sort of "failure" based on unrealistic expectations.

I like your optimism... I'm hoping for Lipo (gotta be consistent if you support the Red Bull F1 team) but Vingegaard is my second choice

I'm surprised he doesn't have to take a mandatory Gardening Leave before joining a competitor.
