Laurens Sweeck: “I take two wins in a week, I am almost at my best. The races were really good"

Laurens Sweeck won the UCI World Cup Beekse Bergen. He beat Lars van der Haar and Michael Vanthourenhout and secured the win. This marks his third victory of this season.

Sweeck stayed at the front for most part of the race. He stayed with Lars van der Haar and Michael Vanthourenhout and was busy looking for an opportunity to create a gap. He got his chance at the end of the last lap. “I sprinted from quite far, but I knew we were riding fast, and it was difficult to stay on the wheel,” Sweeck said.

He describes the last moment before the victory. “I went full from the beginning of the sprint, and I thought they were on the wheel, but they were not.” He won the Superprestige Niel on Friday, and today he won his second World Cup. “I am almost at my best. I was little bit sick last week, but when I take two wins in a week, I didn’t feel 100 percent. The races were really good,” concluded Sweeck.
