Marianne Vos was unable to prove herself in European Cyclocross Championships. She failed to take the lead at the start and was struggling to hold with the leading group throughout the race. She finished in 9th position.
"I really suffered, am broken. This course doesn't lie," Vos told WielerFlits. She continues, "I think it's a very nice course. With a super day, I think it also suits me better. Today it was mainly a matter of working very hard."

She is not disappointed with her result rather, she enjoyed her participation in the Championship. "I mainly had to ride my own course today and keep my own rhythm. Then eventually, you end up in a place. The main thing now is to look further. I'm glad I participated. It was a nice championship. You hope to be a little shorter, but it's no different,” said Vos.
She now looks forward to UCI World Championships Hoogerheide. "I am now looking especially to the months of January and February, to the NK and World Championships. A world championship is always special, but of course you look extra forward to it when it's in your own country,” concluded Vos.
