Tour de France Femmes announce 2022 wildcards

The return of the Tour de France Femmes is set to take place this summer right after the finale of the men's Tour de France and the teams who will be racing it have been officially announced today.

The 14 World Tour teams will all be present in the race, which is set to feature eight stages through the north half of France, starting in Paris with a circuit around the Champs-Élysées and finishing in the Vosges where the final stage features a summit finish at the Planche des Belles Filles.

There will be 24 teams in the race, two more than what the men's peloton will see. It includes three wildcards given to the top three teams of the 2021 Continental classification which are Parkhotel Valkenburg, Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling and Valcar - Travel & Service.

Furthermore, seven more invitations have been distributed which will provide for crucial sponsor exposure for the teams. The remaining wildcards have been given to: AG Insurance - NXTG Team; Arkéa Pro Cycling Team; Cofidis Women Team; Le Col - Wahoo; Plantur-Pura; Stade Rochelais Charente-Maritime and St Michel - Auber93 WE.
