31-year-old Dutchman Yoeri Havik has claimed a first Points Race world title after edging out Germany's Roger Kluge by just 9 points at the UCI World Championships in the Vélodrome National, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France.
A 3 time national champion in the Points Race, Havik finally managed to conquer to cycling world with a thrilling victory, amassing a total of 76 points. With Havik taking the rainbow jersey, former Giro D'Italia stage winner Roger Kluge took the silver medal and Belguim's Fabio van den Bossche took bronze.
