Gravel World Champion Matej Mohoric set to race American Unbound Gravel - "I'm already really looking forward to it"

Matej Mohoric had a brilliant finale to the 2023 season and took his form to the Gravel World Championships. He took the win and the rainbow jersey which he intends on putting to use, and he will do so at the American Unbound Gravel.

"That great challenge awaits me on June 1. It actually counts as a World Championships for all Americans. I'm already really looking forward to it," Mohoric said in an interview with RTV Slovenia. His main goals throughout the season will include the cobbled classics and the Tour de France, and the American race will fit in-between on the 1st of June.

Mohoric had admitted in a previous interview that he intends on putting more focus into Gravel racing, a discipline that is continuously growing in popularity. He may take part in more events throughout the season and target a title defense in the Gravel Worlds.

Not only this but the Slovenian could actually also have a golden opportunity at the Tour de France, where stage 9 will feature over 30 kilometers off-road and could be a prime goal for him and other classics specialists.
