Tom Pidcock was en route to a much needed at the opening race of the 2023 year at the X20 Trofee Baal, but a crash in the final lap spoiled the celebration for the World Champion. Footage from a fan reveals the crash in a different lens.
Pidcock had built himself a gap that looked stable enough to take the victory at the Belgian race, however the crash saw Michael Vanthourenhout and Eli Iserbyt return - with the latter taking the win. Pidcock lost control of the bike in a fast bumpy section and went over the net that separates the riders from the crowd.
