“Toon is going to destroy everything” - Bart Wellens warns about Toon Aerts’ return after doping suspension

Former Cyclocross World Champion Bart Wellens has been talking about the return of Toon Aerts at this weekend’s Exact Cross race in Sint-Niklaas after his two years on the sidelines following a doping suspension.

In a discussion with the Albert & Lambert podcast, “Toon is going to destroy everything” said Wellens “I won't say that he will win, but I have the feeling, even when I hear from his brother Thijs how fast he rides, that he will want to ride that fast. He is so motivated and he is the only one who will be fresh”.

Aerts will start at the back of the grid for Saturday’s race and will have to work his way through the field to make up positions in order to have any chance of winning, with Wellens stating that “he will have to take risks”.
