30-year-old Belgian, Toon Aerts is nearing a return to the elite cyclocross fold. Having spent nearly two years suspended for a positive doping test, the multiple time UCI World Cup race winner has signed for Deschacht Hens Maes.

Having claimed 24 race wins during his career, Aerts was one of cyclocross's biggest stars whilst riding for Baloise - Trek Lions before his suspension. Having tested positive for banned product Letrozole Metabolite however, Aerts was banned for two years.

That suspension comes to an end on the 15th of February 2024, and now with a contract with a team secured, Aerts can fully focus on returning to the upper echelons of the sport.
