Michael Vanthourenhout over the moon with his victory in European Cyclocross Championships - "This is the biggest victory of my life, It is beautiful"

Michael Vanthourenhout dominated the European Cyclo-cross Championships in Namur. Vanthourenhout managed to create a gap in the final lap and beat Lars van der Haar with 40 seconds lead. This is his third victory of the season.

"It was a very tough and one of the hardest races I've ever raced," Vanthourenhout said. He continues, "I felt that my legs were very good, but on the second and third laps, I made mistakes, and it was hard to catch Lars.”

Lars was his main competition throughout the race, but the Belgian left him behind in the final lap and soloed to victory. "I pushed the whole race, and Lars made a lot of mistakes. I was stronger in the technical sections, so I loved the race,” said Vanthourenhout.

Vanthourenhout is over the women with his achievement. "It means a lot. I had never raced in a jersey in the elite category, this is the biggest victory of my life. It is beautiful," concluded Vanthourenhout.
