Tom Dumoulin has ended his successful career as a pro cyclist recently, signing out following the Clasica San Sebastian, in a year that has been very complicated for him, for more than one reason.
Tom Dumoulin has recently been interviewed by NRC where he's talked about his first impressions as a retired rider, the 2020 Tour de France and changes in his professional life.
He has been very honest too: “I'm getting a divorce. We decided that last week. I don't know if that's necessarily something for the newspaper. Although I also understand that it has to be about that for a while."
Since ending his career as a pro cyclist Dumoulin has enjoyed more freedom when it comes to his professional path, however not everything has been a positive since his decision.
"If you had told me this five months ago, I wouldn't have believed you. I always hoped that I wouldn't become one of those cyclists who got divorced after his career ended. But unfortunately that is the case," he said.
