For
Groupama - FDJ, 2025 has not been the most successful season in terms of Grand Tour results. At the upcoming 2025 Vuelta a Espana however, the French-based team have one final chance to put things right and it's fair to say that they are pulling out the big guns.
Arguably the three most proven talents in the Groupama -
FDJ squad when it comes to Grand Tour success,
David Gaudu,
Guillaume Martin and
Stefan Küng will all be present at the startline in Spain, joined by a strong and capable squad of
Rudy Molard, Remi Cavagne, Clement Braz Afonso,
Brieuc Rolland and
Thibaud Gruel.
Gaudu, a two-time stage winner at the Vuelta a Espana and former 4th overall finisher at the Tour de France has struggled to hit the heights in 2025 barring a stage win early in the season at the Tour of Oman, and was one of the major disappointments of the Giro d'Italia earlier this year. In this second Grand Tour of the campaign however, the Frenchman has the chance to put things right.
Martin meanwhile, actually has Groupama - FDJ's biggest UCI point scoring result of the season to boast, with his 16th overall finish at the Tour de France earlier this summer earning 160 UCI points. With two wins added to his palmares this season from the Classic Grand Besançon Doubs and the Tour du Jura, Martin is also the most winningest rider of the team's Vuelta lineup in 2025. Küng meanwhile is always a threat for the win in time trial stages and from the breakaways. A stage winner at the Vuelta twelve months ago, the Swiss powerhouse also has fond memories to recall from his time in Spain.
