Lucinda Brand on X2O Trofee Baal: "It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either"

Baloise Trek Lions rider Lucinda Brand had to settle for silver in X2O Trofee Baal. She gave her best but could not challenge Fem van Empel.

"It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either," she said in the post-race interview. It was a bittersweet result for her. She continues, "If this is not good, of course, it is already quite a nice level. But I would have liked to have had some better legs."

It was muddy on the course, so the Dutchwoman had to walk while carrying her bike. "There were a lot of sections you couldn't get through, with lots of ruts under the mud that you could easily get stuck in as well. It was very much on the power."

With so many cross-races on her calendar, Brand will remain busy for a while. "Every other day, I pretty much have a cross, so it will be cross racing or hanging out on the couch for the next while," concluded the Dutchwoman.
