Emiel Verstrynge victorious in U23 Cyclocross European Championships

Emiel Verstrynge has won the U23 Cyclocross European Championships in Namur. He beat Thibau Nys and Witse Meeussen to secure the victory. This is his second victory of the season.

Emiel Verstrynge and Thibau Nys were in the lead after the end of the first lap. Meeussen, Del Grosso, Lelandais and Ronhaar were chasing them and trying to eliminate the 8-second gap. But Nys soon encountered a flat tyre which forced him 30 seconds behind Verstrynge.

Ronhaar managed to drop others and take the lead in the next lap. He was now leading with 20 seconds gap. Del Grosso also met with a flat tyre. The race took an interesting turn when Verstrynge closed the gap to just seven seconds.

Verstrynge managed to outpace Ronhaar in the final lap and took the top podium position. Thibau Nys, despite a flat tyre, managed to finish second for silver, and Witse Meeussen secured the bronze.
