Denise Betsema dominated the Exact Cross Zonnebeke on Saturday with a powerful display of skill that resulted in an easy victory. She established a lead in the first lap and sustained it until the end of the race.
"It was some pushing anyway," she said in the post-race interview. The racecourse was muddy due to the rain, but Betsema had an easy time compared to the other competitors. "Those mud strips were very tough, but of course, it gives wings when you get in front alone."
Marion Norbert-Riberolle initially seemed like a formidable opponent, however, it soon became evident that Betsema's victory was sure. "I know Marion is very strong on those mud strips. I also saw that in the previous races, so I pulled out all the stops.”
After securing victory at Superprestige Ruddervoorde, this marks her second win of the season, “It does really good to win again,” concluded Betsema.
