Blanka Kata Vas satisfied with bronze - "This feels really good. It was a super tough and technical cross"

Blanka Kata Vas rode hard in the European Cyclocross Championships, but she could only secure bronze in the end.

Vas is satisfied with her effort and gladly accepts bronze." This feels really good. It was a super tough and technical cross. It was mentally and physically very tough, though. I like the descents and the technical sections, but the strips that ran uphill were really tough," she told WielerFlits.

She continues, "I didn't feel really good uphill and didn't have my best day. Before the race, however, during reconnaissance, I also felt bad during the technical passages, but fortunately, in the race, it just went well.”

At one point, Vas was among the leading riders and without van Empel in the group, she was dreaming of the jersey but Van Empel didn’t let her dream come true. "I then thought very briefly about the victory, but Fem was very strong. When she broke down, I thought: this is my chance. She only came back up quickly. She is really racing at a different level at the moment," Vas concluded.
