During today's official team presentation, ATT Investments boss Radim Kijevský talked, among other things about Zdenek Stybar's future with the Czech continental team. According to his words, it's certain that there will be connection between ATT and Stybar in 2024, but it's still not decided what his role should be.
"We haven't signed anything yet, but we're talking about it and a final decision should come by the end of January. Even Zdenek himself struggled a bit with how things would and would not continue. It is about the fact that we are trying to put together enough relevant conditions under which he would continue as a competitor with us. The good thing is that he doesn't rule it out yet," said Kijevský.
But as it seems, everything can be different. "I estimate it fifty-fifty that Zdenek could keep racing," Kijevský estimates. "In any case, he has more appetite for the continuation than he had three months ago. I think it has settled more in his head. He made the team now primarily because of cyclocross and his personal sponsors, that's why he has a Štyby team," he added.
If Stybar were to race, he would only do so at 100%. "There is absolutely no question that he would have it like Sagan, for example, who promised baguettes (RRK Group-Pierre Baguette-Benzinol) that he would go to some big races with them. He wants to go full gas into the season, or not at all. He is a pro," outlined Kijevský.
