Zaaf Cycling Team removed from Vuelta Femenina, team's immediate future at risk

The Zaaf Cycling Team is in the midst of disintegration. They have been several months without paying their riders and there are already a few who have left the team for lack of payments such as Audrey Cordon-Ragot. The latest has just been confirmed by the race organizers itself, and is that the squad will not participate next week in La Vuelta Femenina.

The team, which is named after an Algerian cyclist and has a Spanish license, has been left with only 8 riders after the departure of many others. We now know that they will not race, as we have mentioned, the first grand tour of the season.

Lucie Jounier has gone to Coop-Hitec Products and Mareille Meijering to Movistar Team. Earlier, Audrey Cordon Ragot left for Human Powered Health and Lizzie Stannard for Israel-Premier Tech-Roland. Also gone are Maggie Coles-Lyster, Heidi Franz and Michaela Drummond. We imagine the demise will come sooner rather than later.
