Wout van Aert may not take to the start of Tour des Flandres after being reported to be ill according to team DS Grischa Niermann. In the days following Gent-Wevelgem van Aert has not been feeling good.
On a social media post this morning, Jumbo-Visma have stated that the Belgian champion would not be joining the team in a Tour des Flandres due to an illness. After winning Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and the E3 Saxo Bank Classic, van Aert has placed himself in a position where he is one of the main favourites for the second monument of the season, but his participation is now at risk.
