Visma's sponsorship department director refuses to comment on merger rumours: "When the time is right, we will share all relevant information and news"

Visma is named as the new main sponsor of the likely merger team of Richard Plugge and Patrick Lefevere. The European software group based in Norway has been the second sponsor of the Jumbo-Visma skating and cycling teams since 2019. WielerFlits approached the company to look back on recent years and about their position in a possible merger team between Jumbo-Visma and Soudal Quick-Step.

Anne-Grethe Thomle Karlsen, director of content and sponsorship of the Visma Group, states between the lines that Visma would like to continue sponsoring the successful cycling team. "In terms of the future, we entered into this sponsorship in 2019 with a long-term perspective. As long as both parties see common value in this collaboration, that will not change."

Although she does not want to comment on the rumors about a possible merger with Soudal Quick-Step. "It is our policy not to comment on rumors or speculation. When the time is right, we will of course share all relevant information and news."

"With so many impressive achievements, including several Grand Tour victories, it is difficult to pick out the highlights. But winning the Tour de France two years in a row, this year crowned by the trilogy in Giro, Tour and Vuelta, was incredible. For our Danish colleagues, the highlights were certainly Jonas Vingegaard's visit to our Danish office after his Tour de France victories."
