Video: Tom Pidcock chooses public fountain for post-stage cooldown

The temperatures were soaring hot today at the Tour de France, with the race organizers creating a set of rules specifically for the day to keep the riders safe under such gruelling conditions. Under temperatures reaching as high as 40 degrees, many riders resorted to alternative ways to stay cool.

One of them being Tom Pidcock, who decided after the stage to take a dive into a public fountain by the INEOS Grenadiers bus. Other riders and teams had ice vests ready after the stage, in order to have similar effect.

Pidcock finished the stage in 22nd place and kept her ninth place in the overall classification. INEOS stayed safe in the hilly day where Jasper Philipsen took the win, as they attempted to cause chaos in the final kilometers to profit from the strong winds.
