Jumbo-Visma are having so far a complicated start to the Giro d'Italia, and after the race's fifth stage it could've gotten even worst as one of the team's leaders Sam Oomen crashed after the finish line due to a fan.
It seemed as if Oomen was trying to give a bidon to a fan who was on the side of the road asking for it, however things took a bad turn as the spectator's bag seemed to wrap around the Dutch rider's handlebars causing him to tumble. Despite this, there was no report of injuries, and Oomen has started the sixth stage into mainland Italy in 31st place.
