Rigoberto Urán was insulted before the start of the third stage of the
Tour de France in Amorebieta. The Colombian rider of
EF Education-EasyPost, who has become the overall leader of the U.S. team after Richard Carapaz's fall, was insulted by a "fan" and did not hesitate to complain to the cameras.
Someone in the crowd at the start of stage 3 called him "marica" which translates to an homophobic slur, just before the start and Rigoberto Urán turned to the camera that was recording him at the time to say that "they don't respect professionals anymore", as the crowd in place booed the individual.
