The 15th stage of the
Giro d'Italia will see the peloton head into the Valle d'Aosta for a hard day in the mountains, however before the peloton reached the rough terrain they are having to ride through vast flat roads, which have seen a mass crash including race leader
Richard Carapaz.
The incident happened with 171 kilometers to go, only six kilometers into the day. Whilst riding on a straightforward flat road, the pile-up of riders has caused a clash, taking several riders down towards the back of the peloton.
Richard Carapaz hit the deck, but crashing onto the grass apparently. Nevertheless, it took around a minute for the Ecuadorian to get back on the bike, although likely content that the consequences weren't bigger.
