Peter Sagan has won the Slovakian national championships eight different times but this wasn't to be his year. He has not yet won in 2023, and today he crashed at the finish line of the final sprint in his race.
Alongside Slovakian and Czech riders, Sagan crashed in the final sprint as he lost balance and hit Team DSM's Pavel Bittner, a dramatic ending to a combined national championship race. Both have nevertheless finished on the top positions, but the wins have been taken by Matus Stocek and Mathias Vacek respectively.
