VIDEO | Footage shows Florian Sénéchal crash at Paris-Roubaix

Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team were looking for success at Paris-Roubaix this weekend but what they ended up with was having all of their leaders crash, in what was a disappointing race, with Yves Lampaert and Florian Sénéchal finishing 10th and 13th at the ending despite their mishaps.

The latter has suffered a crash at the Mons-en-Pévèle sector, when he was in the main group containing Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel. Although footage was not broadcasted of the crash, a video recorded by a fan has been shared on social media today revealing the violence in which Sénéchal hit the deck.

Whilst it seemed like the Frenchman lost control whilst riding near the berm of the road, team manager Patrick Lefevere said that Sénéchal "crashed because of a spectator. He was on the wheel of Lampaert when Wout van Aert made an acceleration and a spectator hit his handlebar," according to an interview with VeloNews.

He added that "he went over the bars and hit his head. He was a bit unsure where he was for a few seconds and it was impossible to come back." Despite this Sénéchal still resisted to finish 13th.
