Tour of Britain: Kamiel Bonneu wins third stage as breakaway holds off peloton

Kamiel Bonneu has won the third stage of the Tour of Britain. He was part of the breakaway and maintained the lead till the finish line and secured the victory.

The breakaway included Mathijs Paaschens, Benjamin Perry, Alexandar Richardson and Kamiel Bonneu. The group of four took a lead of 2 minutes and 25 seconds ahead of the peloton. Despite heavy rain and strong headwind they almost reached a lead of 5 minutes in the next 30 kilometers.

As the race neared its conclusion, the weather was becoming worse, with heavy downpours and strong winds making visibility difficult. As the gap narrowed to just under 20 seconds, it looked like the breakaway would be caught, but the quartet maintained their lead.

Kamiel Bonneu jumped ahead in the final few hundred meters and took the victory. Benjamin Perry secured silver while Alexandar Richardson finished in third place.
