Tour de France peloton blocked by climate-change activists

The Tour de France has came across a protest on the road, and in the middle of stage 10 both breakaway and peloton are being stopped due to a protest on the road.

A group of around 10 people have blocked the road, with smoke alongside, harming the convoy and not allowing the riders to go through as planned. Although unclear, it is believed the group were raising awareness to climate change, with the TV broadcast actively preventing the images from the scene from being shown.

The event happened with 33 kilometers to go in an empty section of road. The breakaway was stopped with Alberto Bettiol in the lead, 20 seconds before the main group. The peloton soon arrived at the scene seven minutes later. The race was stopped for around 10 minutes before restarting. The race resumed normally en route to Megève.
