As things regrouped at the front, an ever-dwindling group of leaders held the lead. With Pascal Eenkhoorn the next to try his luck with an attack, heading into the final 10km, he'd been joined by Timo Kielich around 15 seconds clear. Going past the flamme rouge, the duo were still clear although there wasn't much margin for error. In the end, it was Kielich who proved to have the stronger sprint, taking the win ahead of Eenkhoorn with the podium completed by
Henri Uhlig.
