Thibau Nys will continue to wear the Lidl-Trek/Baloise-Trek Lions kits on road and in the field respectively. The 21-year-old Belgian, who is described by his team in a press release as a rising star, has signed a new contract until the end of 2026.
In his first professional season on the road, the talented Belgian took his first two victories, while finishing on podium a couple more times. And Nys was just as successful in the field, where he took his first big victories in the elite category, winning in Waterloo or the Koppenbergcross.
"I think this is the year in which I learned the most about myself in terms of racing, training and recovery. This year I rode together with some big names and this helped me to gain even more experience. This will also help me in the coming years," Nys said in a press release.
"There were ups, but also downs. I want to deal with the downs as much as possible in the coming years. In a few races I was not able to reach my usual level and I am trying to do something about that," Nys is self-critical. "It feels great to be part of this team, which consists of friendly, funny and professional people. I think it is the best combination to grow in the coming years."
