Back in Europe, Egan Bernal is back to training consistently on familiar roads as he has set himself up at the team's base around the Nice and Monaco area. He is currently in Italy, where he has hinted towards a possible return to the Giro d'Italia, however he isn't putting a date on his return.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Bernal said that his return to the peloton “in my thoughts is still far away. Winning or taking part in a race is not in my mind. There is no date yet. It is difficult to know when I will be able to come back.”
