"The priority is to help and accompany David Gaudu" - Thibaut Pinot confirms his modest role at Tour de France

Thibaut Pinot will line up to his final Tour de France in Bilbao this Saturday to what is supposed to be his grand tour farewell. Farewell of one of the most impactful GC riders of past decade. Pinot talked about his role for the race at press release.

"There is still a little more desire than the last times," concedes the Groupama-FDJ climber. "The priority is to help and accompany David Gaudu as far as possible. And afterwards, if there are openings, it's up to me to seize them..."

But the fifth man from recent Giro d'Italia does not exclude being able to fight for the general classification either. "What is certain is that I will not waste time on purpose," he added.
