"That journalist dreams and fantasizes" - Marc Madiot slams 'embarrassing' rumours regarding Groupama-FDJ's interest in Cian Uijtdebroeks

With Cian Uijtdebroeks rumoured to be on his way out of BORA - hansgrohe after a disagreement with his teammate Aleksandr Vlasov, reports in France have suggested Groupama - FDJ are very keen. 

The boss of the French-based team however has now emphatically denied these links and in the process, slammed the journalist who first reported the Uijtdebroeks to Groupama - FDJ links. "That journalist dreams and fantasizes. It is embarrassing for the riders, his team and also for us that someone sends such a rumor into the world," Madiot tells Cyclism'Actu.

According to Daniel Benson of GCN, rather than Groupama - FDJ, it is in fact Lidl-Trek and the INEOS Grenadiers who lead the charge for the Belgian starlet's signature with Madiot completely shutting down his own links. "Uijtdebroeks will not sign with Groupama-FDJ."
