The Norwegian company Visma has its say in the transfers of the World Tour team Visma | Lease a Bike. While Tobias Foss departed from the Dutch team this winter, Per Strand Hagenes and Johannes Staune-Mittet are getting familiar with the top level. Young talent Jorgen Nordhagen is already bound with the team through 2027 and now it's first year junior Hakon Oksnes whose future is already strongly linked to the Dutch formation.
Oksnes is already getting to know the ropes with Dutch junior team JEGG-DJR Academy. "I am very happy with the team and it is pleasant to work. I get the necessary experience, but I can also be competitive," says the Norwegian in an intevriew with In de Leiderstrui. "There are not many differences between Norwegian and Dutch culture. There are a lot of Dutch guys, but they are all nice and they also gave me a warm welcome."
"The team has already proven that they can work with young talents very well. Within a few years I would like to join Visma | Lease a Bike, of course. I will continue to work hard for that and that would already be a dream come true, to ride in the WorldTour. It is my goal."
With fifth place at junior version of Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne on his junior debut, there seems to be potential in the classics for the 17-year-old Norwegian. "I don't know exactly what kind of driver I am yet, but I think I'm a classic type with punch if I had to say so now. Although I can also climb reasonably well."
